At the heart of UrBrainHealth is our founder and chief executive officer, Dr. Wanda Colón-Mollfulleda, whose passion for brain health is deeply personal. After losing her beloved mother to Alzheimer’s disease in 2016, Dr. Colón-Mollfulleda authored JOSEFINA: a Memoir in which she shares her and her family’s dementia journey. In her mother’s honor, she became involved with the Alzheimer’s Association as a volunteer. She now serves as advocate, certified community educator, and member of the Board of Directors of the Alzheimer’s Association in the state of Georgia.
Through UrBrainHealth, Dr. Colón-Mollfulleda turns personal loss and caregiving experience into purpose. She lovingly educates people of all ages about the modifiable risk factors associated with dementia and empowers them to take meaningful steps toward protecting their brain health now and tomorrow. She believes every person deserves access to knowledge, encouragement, and hope.
Currently, she is a devoted caregiver for her father, who is living with late-stage Alzheimer’s disease. He is among the millions of people living with Alzheimer’s dementia in the United States.
Along with her husband, Wilson Mollfulleda, she promotes the benefits of healthy living via their YouTube channel @urbrainhealth. Mr. Mollfulleda serves as UrBrainHealth’s videographer, photographer, and webmaster. He uses his talents and experience to bring UrBrainHealth’s mission to life. He shares his wife’s deep commitment to promoting brain health, raising awareness about Alzheimer’s, and helping bring an end to dementia. Together, they are a compassionate and dedicated team, shining their light against the darkness of Alzheimer’s through their involvement in the Alzheimer’s Association’s Do What You Love to End Alz and Walk to End Alzheimer’s events, as well as through their meaningful partnerships with educational institutions including Georgia Southern University.
